Many high school students -- or, hell, even those of you who are in college and had a great high school art program -- will probably know what I'm talking about when I say The Scholastic Art and Writing Awards. It's possibly the biggest chance for a high school student to earn money, including scholarships, for their work. Well, I just found out today that one of my pieces, Ghostly, has won an Honorable Mention in the 2013-2014 Regional Scholastic Art and Writing Awards. Another one of my pieces, Tiger Longwing, has won a GOLD KEY, which is the highest award that you can achieve, aside from the special, money-earning awards. I was happy when I found out today. The whole show will be up at the Memphis Brooks Museum of Art for a good while... By all means, this isn't my first award from this competition... But, somehow, especially after bombing all the contests I entered last year, I feel... proud of myself for this one. I had been trying so hard to achieve Gold Key on at least one of my pieces... I'm just happy at myself. This was my last chance in this contest, and I'm happy I finally got a Gold Key.
Now, friend codes. I have Pokemon X (and all the starters! And a Spiritomb! Willing to trade!) and I was hoping maybe I could get some friend codes on here. My friend code is: 0860 - 3783 - 5907. Just comment with your friend code, and I'll add you in. Please note that by commenting, I'll assume that you have already entered my friend code. If your card sits on my list for too long without any kind of update, I will delete it because there is limited space. Also, please only comment if you have Pokemon X or Pokemon Y.
I shall commence work on some commissions and contest entries this weekend. I will also submit some adoptables and such. So be on the lookout.
